The ruling will of a person, having gained dominion over the whole territory of the outer life, is commissioned to rebuild the inner sanctuary. The charge is to raise again the temple of the body in its own holy seat, to reconstruct consciousness where it belongs after long exile.

The commanding self is turned from mere conquest of the world toward making the body a fit dwelling for the indwelling life. What ruled the kingdoms of experience now labors to restore the one house where the higher is worshipped within.

Cyrus: the awakened ruling will that has gained dominion over the outer territory of experience Jerusalem: the vision of inner peace, the center where higher and lower meet, the holy seat of consciousness House: the temple of the body, rebuilt to become a fit dwelling for the indwelling life Judah: the region of praise and thanksgiving in a person, the ground where the sanctuary belongs

Live Ezra 1:2 today

  1. Pick one small thing you have been letting slide in your own body, water, sleep, a walk, and do it today without announcing it. The house you live in is the first one worth repairing.
  2. In one conversation today, drop the urge to win the point. Let the other person be right about something small and feel what it costs you, because that cost is where the real work is.
  3. When a work message or a deadline spikes your pulse, put a hand on your chest and take three slow breaths before you type. You are not handling the email yet, you are taking charge of the one place you actually govern.

You have gotten good at managing your outer life. What inside you have you left in ruins?
