to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I didn’t immediately confer with flesh and blood,
The turning point of that life on the Damascus road was not an outward vision at all. It was an inward one.

MANIFESTATION
The turning point of that life on the Damascus road was not an outward vision at all. It was an inward one. The pattern that people call the Son, the ideal man, the perfect state, woke up inside him as his own imagination. Once that happened, there was nothing left to argue about with other people. He did not go asking teachers whether it was allowed.
A state understood from within needs no outside permission. The moment a person feels himself to be the thing he longed for, the change is settled, and every human opinion about it arrives too late. That inner certainty is what he then carried to strangers, because the awakened state speaks for itself.

SUFISM
Jadhba: Being pulled by God Jadhba names the moment God takes hold of someone who never asked for it. A person can be running hard in the other direction and still be turned around in a single afternoon. Sufis repeat that one pull from God outweighs all the effort humans can produce, and the one pulled knows the change was not their own work.
ʿIlm ladunnī: Knowledge handed over directly by God Al-Ghazali used the phrase for knowledge that arrives with no teacher in between. Someone can hold such a thing and be unable to name the book or the conversation that gave it, because none did. Its certainty does not rest on anyone else agreeing, so the urge to get it checked loses its grip.
Neither my heaven nor my earth contains me, but the heart of my believing servant contains me: the heart is the meeting place Sufis repeat these as God's own words about where he can be found. For anyone who has met God inside rather than at some holy site, the words describe exactly that. The heart turns out to be the room where it happened, and no outside location outranks it.
Ikhlāṣ: Sincerity, acting for God alone Ikhlāṣ means doing a thing for God with nobody else's approval in view. The pull to run it past other people is often less about getting facts straight and more about wanting someone to say you are not crazy. Once that approval stops being necessary, a person can act on what they were given while the room stays unconvinced.
Bury your existence in the earth of obscurity: hidden time comes before fruit Ibn Ata Allah wrote that whatever sprouts without first being buried bears poor fruit. Someone handed something large usually wants to announce it that same week, mostly to steady themselves. Time out of sight lets the thing take root, so that whatever gets said later carries weight.
Baqāʾ: Living on in God among ordinary people Baqāʾ describes what follows the self dropping away, when a person walks back into daily life. Sufis hold the return to people higher than staying alone in the sweetness. Such a person sits in ordinary company, hands on what was given, and looks from the outside like anyone else.
Manifestation lens
What have I already settled inside that I keep putting up for a vote?
The swimmer in the waterfall was asked his method and said he simply goes in with the water and out with the water. He had never asked anyone whether that was allowed.
What other people think belongs to them, not to you. Once you are settled in your own judgment, their approval adds nothing and their disapproval removes nothing.
When a thing is truly seen, there is no one left to ask. The bell does not request permission before it rings.
