Genesis 12:19 Meaning Why Did You Say

Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Now therefore, see your wife, take her, and go your way.

What does Genesis 12:19 mean?

The soul, once hidden as sister, is returned intact to the spirit she belongs to, and the lower ruler who nearly claimed her must release her untouched. Pharaoh is the ego enthroned over the body, the material king who almost absorbs the soul while she travels veiled; the union is only ever the spirit's own, and it cannot be taken by the flesh no matter how near it comes.

Restored as wife and sent on her way, she resumes the marriage that the disguise had suspended.

Egypt is left behind as the aspiring nature moves on, the soul recovered from the bondage that briefly held her.

Sarai (thy wife): the soul restored to her rightful marriage with the spirit, released untouched from the lower power Pharaoh (the speaker, the king): the ego enthroned over the body, the material ruler who nearly seizes the soul but must let her go Egypt (go thy way from it): the dense bodily state now left behind as the higher nature moves on

Live Genesis 12:19 today

  1. Think of a time something nearly took you over, a job, a habit, a person's opinion of you, and name what in you it never actually got. That part came back, and it is the part to live from today.
  2. With someone who has been pulled off course by something stronger than them, do not treat them as damaged goods. Speak to the part of them that is still whole, because it is still there.
  3. When a boss, a system or a bad week has hold of your hours, hand over the hours and keep your tone, your honesty, your attention to the people around you. That is the part nobody takes without your signature.

What did I think I had lost that was actually only hidden for a while?
