SELF-HELP
Where a person points their life gets decided long before they arrive, by a choice that looked like nothing at the time.
A few degrees of heading, held over enough miles, separates a well watered plain from a city that burns. Nobody chooses to live in Sodom. A person chooses better grazing in one direction, and the heading sets what fills the eye, what fills the eye sets the appetite, the appetite sets the next move, and the moves compound until the address has changed on its own.
Pain and pleasure ran that choice the way they run every choice, toward visible abundance and away from the harder ground Abram kept. A person who never audits where their preferences point ends up somewhere they would have refused outright if it had been offered as a destination.

If I keep this exact heading for five more years, where do I actually arrive?
Small acts repeated carve the mind the way drops of water fill a jar. No single drop decided anything, and the jar is full all the same.
A person becomes what their attention is repeatedly turned toward, so guard the direction of the mind rather than any one of its moments. The habitual gaze is the life.
One small good leads to the next and one small wrong leads to the next, because the reward of an act is the act it makes easier. The chain, not the link, is what you are choosing.
