Genesis 18:3 Meaning And Said

and said, “My lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, please don’t go away from your servant.

What does Genesis 18:3 mean?

The plea that love not pass away comes from a mind still unsure it is worthy to hold what has come to it. It asks for favour as though love could be earned or withheld, when in truth love does not measure worth and never leaves of its own accord.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The plea that love not pass away comes from a mind still unsure it is worthy to hold what has come to it. It asks for favour as though love could be earned or withheld, when in truth love does not measure worth and never leaves of its own accord. Only the mind departs; the presence stays.

To call oneself a servant here is the humility that welcomes, not the smallness that cowers. A mind willing to receive asks love to remain, and the asking is already the door opening. Nothing needs to be deserved; it needs only to be let in.

Servant: the part of the mind that has learned to receive rather than command, the humble welcome that lets love stay.

Live Genesis 18:3 today

  1. When something good comes your way today, a compliment, help you did not ask for, let it land without deflecting or earning it back. Just say thank you and stop there.
  2. Ask one person for something small you actually need today, a hand, a ride, ten minutes. Asking is not a debt.
  3. When you feel you have not done enough to deserve rest or kindness, take it anyway. The feeling will argue; let it argue and take the rest.

What have you been refusing because you were not sure you had earned it?
