On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.

Genesis 2:2 · World English Bible
On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.
The rest that follows creation is not fatigue but completeness, the deep stillness of a mind that knows there is nothing left to prove and nothing to defend. Love does not labor on and on to make itself more real, it finishes and is at peace, because what is whole has no need to strive.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The rest that follows creation is not fatigue but completeness, the deep stillness of a mind that knows there is nothing left to prove and nothing to defend. Love does not labor on and on to make itself more real, it finishes and is at peace, because what is whole has no need to strive. This is the quiet the ego cannot imitate, for the ego must always be doing, always guarding against a loss that never comes.
A mind that has laid down its grievances enters this same rest. It stops the ceaseless work of judgment, the endless effort to fix a world it fears, and discovers that peace was not the reward of striving but the truth beneath it all along. When there is nothing left to attack, the mind is finally still.
The seventh day: the state of accomplished peace within the mind, the rest that comes when it stops trying to make itself safe and simply accepts that it is whole.

MANIFESTATION
Rest here is not tiredness laid down. God finishes by ceasing to labor, because the making is over the moment the thing is held complete within. The seventh day is the settled state a person reaches when he stops striving toward what he wants and instead assumes he already has it, and that quiet is the sign the work is done, not a reward that comes after.
So creation ends in stillness, not effort. Imagination pours itself into the desired image, enters it, feels it as fact, and then lets go, and that letting go is the rest. A person does not push a wish into being by struggle. He occupies the finished scene, feels it settle into him, and leaves it alone, and what he has quietly accepted as already so is what hardens into his life.

ESOTERIC
The number 7 is the mark of completion and spiritual fullness, the 7 centers of energy running up the spine from base to crown. The work of creation ends when the current has climbed through all 6 lower stations and comes to rest in the seventh, the fully awakened state at the top of the head. Rest here is not idleness but the stillness of a system that has finished rising, every force in the body settled into its finished place.
What happens in a person is the whole inner ascent reaching its completion. The making stops because nothing is left unmade; the seventh center holds the finished work, and consciousness rests where it has arrived.
Seventh day: the number 7, spiritual completion, the crown center at the top of the spine where the risen energy comes to rest Rested: the stillness of a finished ascent, every force in the body settled once the climb through the centers is done
Christian Psychology lens
What are you still defending that nobody is actually attacking?
The way of nature does nothing, and nothing is left undone. Straining is what makes a thing hard.
Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes and the grass grows by itself.
One day a week the work is simply declared finished, whether it is or not. Rest is not what you earn at the end, it is something you step into.
