Creation is spoken of as a begetting, an ordered unfolding through descent, not a single instantaneous event to be measured against a stopwatch. The day named lasts no twenty-four hours but stretches across an indefinite epoch, so the ancient text and the age of the cosmos are never at war.
What matters is where the story places the burden. The heavens and the earth are the stage, and the actor who will bear responsibility for what happens on it is about to appear. Our fate is not written in the stars above. The determination of it lies in ourselves, in the choices a person makes day by day.
