Genesis 3:15 Meaning I Will Put Hostility Between You
I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.

Genesis 3:15 · World English Bible
I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.
The serpent is the coiled life-force lying at the base of the spine, the reptilian current that, left to crawl in the dust, keeps a person bound to the ground of the senses. The woman is the feeling nature and the receptive soul, and the standing enmity between them is the lifelong tension between raw instinct and awakening emotion.

ESOTERIC
The serpent is the coiled life-force lying at the base of the spine, the reptilian current that, left to crawl in the dust, keeps a person bound to the ground of the senses. The woman is the feeling nature and the receptive soul, and the standing enmity between them is the lifelong tension between raw instinct and awakening emotion. Her seed rising up strikes the serpent's head, mastering the lower drive at its source in the skull, while the serpent catches only the heel, the lowest and most earthbound point.
The war is inside one body, between the dust-crawling energy and the ascending feeling that would lift it. Higher awareness crushes the pull of instinct at the top, and instinct can wound only where a person still touches the earth.
Serpent: the coiled life-force at the base of the spine, bound to the dust of the senses Woman: the feeling nature and receptive soul that rises against raw instinct Head: the skull, the high seat where the lower drive is mastered at its source Heel: the lowest earthbound point of the body, all that instinct can reach

PSYCHOANALYSIS
The serpent is not simply a beast. It stands for instinct, the older animal life that human awareness broke away from when it first learned to tell good from evil. Becoming conscious set us against our own depths.
This is the lasting quarrel. The wounds run both ways, the heel struck and the head struck, yet neither side is finished off. Awareness cannot kill the instinct, and the instinct cannot silence awareness. So in every age a person meets that same buried force again and learns it must be lived with rather than beaten, because it belongs to them.
Esoteric lens
Which old pull in me gets to drive because I have never once said no at the start?
The body is a chariot, the senses are the horses, and the teaching is that the reins belong to the discerning mind. The animal in you is not an enemy, it is untrained.
The wild elephant of habit is not killed but gradually turned, tied to the post of attention until it walks where you walk. Mastery is patient, not violent.
You will be dragged by impulse exactly as far as you have not practiced. Train in the small things and the large pull loses its grip.
