Genesis 31:10 Meaning During Mating Season

During mating season, I lifted up my eyes, and saw in a dream, and behold, the male goats which leaped on the flock were streaked, speckled, and grizzled.

What does Genesis 31:10 mean?

A mind that lifts up its eyes has agreed for a moment to see with a Teacher other than the one it has always trusted, and what it beholds is not the increase of a flock but the truth that vision is given, never wrestled from the world by cleverness. The marked and mottled creatures are the fruit already prepared in a mind that only had to look and receive.

Christian Psychology

A mind that lifts up its eyes has agreed for a moment to see with a Teacher other than the one it has always trusted, and what it beholds is not the increase of a flock but the truth that vision is given, never wrestled from the world by cleverness. The marked and mottled creatures are the fruit already prepared in a mind that only had to look and receive.

The increase a mind believes it schemed for was placed there before it ever calculated, and its only work was to open the eyes and accept. What seems to require striving is answered the instant the mind is willing to be shown.

Eyes: the mind's power to perceive, which sees whatever teacher it has chosen and receives rather than makes what it looks upon. Rams and cattle: the seeming increase of the world, the outcome a mind takes for its own doing when it was quietly given all along.
