Rachel calls her father "my lord," and that single phrase carries the seed of the whole Bible. In this old speech a child addresses the parent as lord, so lord means father, and the mystery running through Scripture is a son awakening to find the awareness in himself is the Father he sought.

MANIFESTATION
Rachel calls her father "my lord," and that single phrase carries the seed of the whole Bible. In this old speech a child addresses the parent as lord, so lord means father, and the mystery running through Scripture is a son awakening to find the awareness in himself is the Father he sought. What is hidden here is exactly what refuses to be found by searching from the outside.
Laban rummages through the tent for his stolen images and comes up empty, because the thing of value was never among the objects he could handle. The one who possesses it sits over it, undisturbed, unwilling to rise on demand. What a person truly owns within cannot be seized by any outer inspection, however thorough. The Father is not a figure elsewhere to be located and confronted. He is your own awareness of being, which no searching hand ever turns up because it is doing the searching.
Manifestation lens
Have I been searching outside for something that is doing the searching?
The eye cannot see itself and the hand cannot grasp itself, so the awareness doing the looking is never found among the things it looks at.
Zen calls this searching for an ox while riding on it, since the one who hunts everywhere for his true nature is already using it to hunt.
Rumi wrote that he searched the temples and the schools and found nothing, then looked in his own heart and the one he wanted was there all along.
