CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

A guilty mind tries to buy the peace that is already given. Believing the brother must be paid before he can be faced, it sends gifts ahead to soften a wrath that exists only in its own imagining. This is the bargain the ego always proposes, that love has a price and acceptance must be earned. Yet the brother needs no appeasing, for he was never angry; the offering placates no one but the fear inside the one who sends it.

The face such a mind is afraid to see holds nothing but welcome. When it finally looks, it will find it was already accepted, and every gift was spent to purchase what was free.

Servant: the humbled self the mind presents when it believes it must earn the right to be received The present: the offering sent to buy a peace already given, the bribe fear pays to a wrath that was never there His face: the brother's true expression, feared as anger yet holding only the welcome the mind expects to be denied

Live Genesis 32:20 today

  1. Go into something today without an offering in front of you: no overexplaining, no preemptive apology, no gift to soften the ask. Just show up and see what happens.
  2. When you sit down with someone you are nervous about, look at their face before you launch into your prepared opening. You will often find you were already welcome.
  3. Send the message you have been editing to make unobjectionable. Cut the padding and the three qualifiers and send the plain version.

Who am I still trying to earn acceptance from when it may have been given to me a long time ago?
