Genesis 35:19 · World English Bible
Rachel died, and was buried on the way to Ephrath (also called Bethlehem).
The physical and spiritual sides of a person must each be given their own balanced time, and here the divine wife, the child of promise carried within, sinks down and is laid to rest along the road of meditation itself. Rachel is the beloved inner presence, and her death and burial on the way mark the moment that presence goes quiet and hidden inside the place of stillness, folded into the very seat where the higher current gathers.
