Genesis 4:4 Meaning Abel Also Brought Some of the Firstborn

Abel also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of its fat. Yahweh respected Abel and his offering,

What does Genesis 4:4 mean?

Abel is the spirit side of a person, the right-brain keeper of divine thoughts, and his flock is the flock of insights tended in the stillness of meditation. The firstlings are the first and choicest of those received thoughts, the ideas that come from spirit rather than the ones the natural mind manufactures for itself.

Esoteric

Abel is the spirit side of a person, the right-brain keeper of divine thoughts, and his flock is the flock of insights tended in the stillness of meditation. The firstlings are the first and choicest of those received thoughts, the ideas that come from spirit rather than the ones the natural mind manufactures for itself. This offering finds favor because it is the self-generating mind laid down so the spiritual thoughts can be received instead.

Cain, absent here, is the tiller of soil, the lower carnal mind that offers only its own ground-grown produce. Abel's gift is honored because it is spirit's own harvest, the sheep of divine thought kept and returned to their source.

Abel: the spirit side, the right-brain keeper of divine thoughts tended in stillness Flock: the divine thoughts pastured and kept within during meditation Firstlings: the first and choicest insights received from spirit, not made by the natural mind

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Abel brings the best of what he has, the firstborn and the fat. The quality of the sacrifice is the quality of the man, revealed in what he is willing to surrender. An offering is a wager about the future, a bet that giving up something now purchases something better later. He bets high, and reality answers.

What you sacrifice tells the truth about what you value, because you cannot hoard your best and claim to be aiming at the highest. The half-hearted gift is the divided heart made visible. Give the future your finest and the future tends to respond in kind. The world takes seriously the person who takes it seriously first.

What arrived today that I was too busy making things to receive?
