CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The healed part of the mind claims nothing of its own. It knows that clarity is not a private possession to be shown off, but a light received and passed along. When a mind stops insisting that the answer is its own doing, it becomes clear enough for the true answer to come through it, and that answer is always one of peace.
So the teacher within steps aside from pride and lets Love reply. The frightened ruler who demands to know his future is not given the mind's cleverness; he is given peace, because the only real answer to fear is the correction that comes from beyond the ego. What the mind cannot supply on its own, Love supplies through a mind willing to receive.
Joseph: the healed part of the mind that claims nothing of its own and lets Love answer through it Pharaoh: the fearful ruling thought that demands certainty and is offered peace instead

EGO & BEING
'It is not in me.' Here is the end of the anxious self that believes it must produce every answer through effort and cleverness. When you stop treating the thinking mind as the only source of wisdom, something deeper can move through you.
The truest answers do not come from strain. They arise in stillness, in the space that opens when the ego steps aside and stops insisting on its own importance. Admit honestly that you do not hold the answer, grow quiet, and a knowing rises from beneath thought. That is why the answer, when it comes, brings peace instead of more agitation.

Where am I straining to be the one with the answer?
The sage acts without claiming credit, and because nothing is claimed, nothing is lost. The work goes through them rather than belonging to them.
A Zen teacher says to empty the cup before pouring. A mind busy holding its own answer has no room for a better one.
Rumi described himself as a reed flute, hollow, and the music belonging to the breath. The emptiness is what makes the sound possible.
