Genesis 42:20 Meaning Bring Your Youngest Brother to Me
Bring your youngest brother to me; so will your words be verified, and you won’t die.” They did so.
What does Genesis 42:20 mean?
The youngest brother is the innocent, untried part of a person that has not yet been brought into the presence of the higher power ruling within. The demand that he be brought forward is the demand of that ruling consciousness to see whether the older faculties, the developed habits and reasoning of a lifetime, still hold any living connection to their own origin.

The demand that he be brought forward is the demand of that ruling consciousness to see whether the older faculties, the developed habits and reasoning of a lifetime, still hold any living connection to their own origin. Words are verified only when the child within is delivered up; the mature parts of the self prove themselves true not by argument but by producing what is youngest and least corrupted in them.
So long as the innocent portion is kept back, hidden in the far country of ordinary life, the person stays under sentence and cannot cross into fuller awareness. Bringing it forward is what keeps the whole self alive.
Brother: an image of one's own fourfold self, the faculties standing in for the whole person. Youngest brother: the innocent, undeveloped part of consciousness that must be carried up into the higher mind.
