Genesis 49:6 · World English Bible
My soul, don’t come into their council. My glory, don’t be united to their assembly; for in their anger they killed men. In their self-will they hamstrung cattle.
The deeper self refuses to join the counsel of attack. Where fragments of the mind gather in secret to plan harm, the awakened part withholds its consent, knowing that to unite with anger is to lose its own peace.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The deeper self refuses to join the counsel of attack. Where fragments of the mind gather in secret to plan harm, the awakened part withholds its consent, knowing that to unite with anger is to lose its own peace. Their rage struck down a brother and their self-will tore down a defense, and these are simply what the ego does when guilt is thrown outward as violence.
A mind protects its wholeness not by joining the assault but by declining to sit in that assembly at all, for whatever it agrees with, it becomes. The healed mind keeps its integrity by choosing not to share in what fear plots.
My soul: the deeper self that declines to consent to attack, the part of the mind guarding its own peace Mine honour: the integrity of the mind, the wholeness that refuses to be united with plans of harm Their assembly: the gathering of fearful thoughts conspiring in secret, the counsel of attack the awakened mind will not join A wall: the defense torn down by self-will, the protection guilt destroys when it acts through rage
Christian Psychology lens
What do I become when I agree with it?
Weapons are instruments of grief, and the wise keep their distance from them. To delight in a victory won by force is already to have lost something inside.
Hatred held in the mind never ends hatred; it only keeps the fire fed. The one who sets it down is the one who stops burning.
You cannot be harmed by another's rage, only by your own agreement to take it up. Guard what you consent to, because that is the one thing truly yours.
