Hebrews 13:10 Meaning We Have an Altar From Which Those

We have an altar from which those who serve the holy tabernacle have no right to eat.

What does Hebrews 13:10 mean?

An altar stands for the place inside a person where something sacred happens and the old self is broken down and remade. To eat from it means to take that change into yourself and be fed by it.

Psychoanalysis

An altar stands for the place inside a person where something sacred happens and the old self is broken down and remade. To eat from it means to take that change into yourself and be fed by it.

The old servants tended the tent from the outside, going through the rites but never entering their meaning. A man can perform every ceremony and stay a stranger to it, because its meaning never became his own. Such a person takes nothing in and goes away unchanged, while the altar feeds only the one who has made the sacred his own.

Live Hebrews 13:10 today

  1. Take one idea you have been admiring from a distance, in a book or a podcast, and actually do a small piece of it today instead of saving more notes about it.
  2. Sit down for a real meal with someone with no phones on the table. Being present at the table is different from being at the table.
  3. When a hard moment comes today, let it change something in you rather than just getting through it. Surviving it and taking it in are not the same.

Which thing in your life are you standing beside instead of letting it inside you?
