These are the stages of an inner ascent, each one a movement of energy within the body and mind rather than a church rite. Baptism is the cleansing immersion of consciousness in the living water, the purifying of the lower nature so the higher can rise. The laying on of hands is the transfer of spiritual current from one center to another, the directed flow of energy that awakens what was dormant. Resurrection of the dead is the raising of the sleeping faculties in a person, the awakening of powers that lay inert in the flesh as if entombed. Eternal judgment is the continual weighing of spirit against flesh, the ceaseless discrimination within that sorts the higher from the lower at every moment.

These are not ceremonies to be performed but transformations happening inside a person: the washing of consciousness, the moving of inner energy, the waking of what slept, and the constant weighing of the 2 natures within.

Baptisms: the cleansing immersion of consciousness in living water, the purifying of the lower nature Laying on of hands: the transfer of spiritual current between centers, the directed flow of energy that awakens what sleeps Resurrection of the dead: the raising of the dormant faculties in a person, powers that lay inert in the flesh as if entombed

Live Hebrews 6:2 today

  1. Take three minutes alone today with no screen, and let the day's noise settle out of you like silt in a glass of water. That settling is the washing.
  2. Say the one encouraging thing you have been thinking about someone out loud or in a text today. A word at the right moment wakes something in a person that was lying still.
  3. In the middle of a tense meeting or a heated thread, pause before each reply and ask which part of you wants to speak. Then let the better one go first.

What in you has been asleep long enough that a small nudge could wake it?

The same truth in other traditions

Taoism · Zhuangzi

He described fasting of the heart, an inner emptying and washing that no outer ceremony can do for you. What matters happens behind the ribs.

Hinduism · the Upanishads

The teaching passes from one who knows to one who is ready, and what wakes in the student is a current, not a piece of information.

Buddhism · the Satipatthana Sutta

Moment by moment the mind watches what arises and knows it as helpful or harmful. The weighing is continuous, not a verdict delivered at the end.
