Hebrews 7:24 Meaning But He

But he, because he lives forever, has his priesthood unchangeable.

What does Hebrews 7:24 mean?

This priest continues where mortal clergy die off, and what continues in a person is the unchangeable mind, the deathless self that outlasts every passing state of the body. The flesh, taken from father and mother, ages and fails; the priest within, the self that crosses the arachnoid into the inner chamber of the brain, does not.

Esoteric

This priest continues where mortal clergy die off, and what continues in a person is the unchangeable mind, the deathless self that outlasts every passing state of the body. The flesh, taken from father and mother, ages and fails; the priest within, the self that crosses the arachnoid into the inner chamber of the brain, does not. Its office holds because it is anchored in the part of a person that does not decay.

Mortal priests pass because they are only flesh. This one abides because it is the higher self seated past the veil, untouched by the body's coming and going. An unchangeable priesthood means the enduring inner self keeps its place in the holy of holies of the head while the physical man rises and falls around it.

This man: the deathless inner self, the mind that continues unchanged through every passing state of the body Priesthood: the fixed inner office of the self that has crossed the veil into the brain's innermost chamber Flesh (implied against it): the physical body taken from the parents, which ages and fails while the inner self abides

Live Hebrews 7:24 today

  1. When you catch your reflection today and dislike something about it, let the thought pass and give your attention to the one doing the looking.
  2. Visiting or calling someone older or unwell, speak to the person, not to the condition. The one you have always known is still the one answering.
  3. On a day when your body is tired or aching and everything feels like too much, do the next small thing anyway from the part of you that is not tired.

When my body is having a hard day, who is the one noticing that?

Bodies are set aside like worn clothes and new ones are taken up. The one wearing them is untouched by the wearing out.

The moon stays whole while the clouds come and go. Awareness is not damaged by what passes across it.

Stoicism · Seneca

The body is on loan and is being used up from the first day. What you actually are is not the part that is being spent.
