Hebrews 9:11 Meaning But Christ Having Come as a High

But Christ having come as a high priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,

What does Hebrews 9:11 mean?

The anointed awareness inside a person operates through a sanctuary no craftsman ever assembled, the living body itself with its channels and centers, older and finer than any structure of stone. The high priest is not a man in robes but the ruling consciousness that has climbed into its proper office, serving at the altar of one's own breath.

The tabernacle not made with hands is the temple everyone already carries: the spine as its central pillar, the head as its holy place, the whole frame built by nature rather than by masons. The good things to come are the higher states that open once this inner priest presides, when awareness turns from the outer courts of the senses toward the sanctuary within.

What religion houses in buildings is here relocated to the flesh, so that the meeting of the human and the divine happens inside the body a person already lives in.

High priest: the ruling consciousness raised into its office, serving at the altar of the breath Tabernacle not made with hands: the living body with its spinal pillar and inner chambers, the temple carried within Building: the outer stone religion that mistakes structures of hand for the true sanctuary of the flesh

Live Hebrews 9:11 today

  1. On your commute today, instead of reaching for headphones right away, follow your own breathing for one stop. That is your place; you are already in it.
  2. Before you walk into a room where someone needs you, stop in the doorway for one breath and gather yourself. You go in as the person in charge of yourself, not as whatever the day has made of you.
  3. When pressure hits and you want to get out of the room, stay in your body instead: feet on the floor, breath slow, shoulders down. Nothing outside you has to change for that to be available.

If the quiet place is already inside me, what am I still waiting for permission to enter?

In the space within the heart, the texts say, is contained what the whole of the sky contains. The dwelling is inside, and it was never built.

Zen · Hui-neng

He taught that the awakened nature is not somewhere you travel to, it is your own mind when it stops looking elsewhere. No hall, no statue, no hand involved.

Taoism · Chuang Tzu

The sage is described as breathing from the heels, the breath itself being the practice. The body is the whole apparatus; nothing extra needs installing.
