Ego v. Being

A moment comes when you turn and ask, what have I to do any longer with idols? The idols are the forms the mind once worshipped, the possessions and images and beliefs it hoped would complete you. You are finished with them, because now you have listened and truly seen. You have become present.

In that presence you are like a green tree, evergreen and alive, no longer drawing life from the things you once chased. Whatever is good and fruitful in your life now flows through you on its own, not forced by effort but arising from the stillness you have rested in.

  1. Pick one thing you were going to buy or scroll toward today and simply skip it, and let the small empty space stay empty.
  2. Do one ordinary thing for someone, the dishes, a ride, a short reply, without telling anyone you did it.
  3. When a deadline has you pushing hard, work at the actual speed of the task for ten minutes instead of the speed of your worry, and see whether anything is really lost.

What in your life is already growing without you forcing it?
