Isaiah 22:22 Meaning I Will Lay the Key of David’s

I will lay the key of David’s house on his shoulder. He will open, and no one will shut. He will shut, and no one will open.

What does Isaiah 22:22 mean?

David is the whole line of humanity and all its experience gathered into one figure, and the key to his house is authority over that entire inheritance. Laid on the shoulder, it is a weight carried by the chosen one, the burden of the promise borne by the person in whom the drama comes true.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

David is the whole line of humanity and all its experience gathered into one figure, and the key to his house is authority over that entire inheritance. Laid on the shoulder, it is a weight carried by the chosen one, the burden of the promise borne by the person in whom the drama comes true. Whoever holds this key opens and shuts states of consciousness at will, and no appearance can override the choice.

To open with none able to shut is to assume a state and hold it until it hardens into fact, past every argument of reason and sense. To shut with none able to open is to release a state completely, so it no longer governs you. This is the power that fulfills the whole drama inside one person. The one carrying the key on his shoulder decides which states he lives from, and the outer world can only agree.

Live Isaiah 22:22 today

  1. Pick one mood you will not live from today, the resentful replay, the low hum of worry. When it opens, close it on purpose and go back to what you were doing.
  2. In your next conversation, choose the state you walk in with instead of catching theirs. If they are frantic, stay level and let that be what the room borrows.
  3. Under pressure, before the reply or the phone call, take one breath and ask which door you are about to open. Then open the one you actually want to live in for the rest of the afternoon.

What have I been letting the day open in me, that I could simply close?

Some things are in your power and some are not. The one thing fully yours is what you choose to assent to, and that choice no circumstance can take.

You are your own master. No one else can open or close the door of your own mind for you.

Tao Te Ching 33

Mastering others takes force. Mastering yourself is the real strength, and it carries a weight nobody hands you.
