Isaiah 33:12 Meaning The Peoples Will Be Like the Burning
The peoples will be like the burning of lime, like thorns that are cut down and burned in the fire.

Isaiah 33:12 · World English Bible
The peoples will be like the burning of lime, like thorns that are cut down and burned in the fire.
The crowd of lower thoughts has no lasting substance under trial. Lime is the chalk that seems solid yet crumbles to white dust the moment fire touches it, and the many voices of the outer mind burn to nothing exactly this way when the inner heat rises.

ESOTERIC
The crowd of lower thoughts has no lasting substance under trial. Lime is the chalk that seems solid yet crumbles to white dust the moment fire touches it, and the many voices of the outer mind burn to nothing exactly this way when the inner heat rises. Thorns cut up are the choking cares and small resentments that grow wild in a person, sharp enough to wound but dry enough to catch and vanish in a single blaze. The fire is the refining power within, the same heat that purifies the true self while it consumes whatever was only chaff pretending to be a person.
What felt like a full and busy self proves to be brushwood. When the inner flame comes, the accumulated noise of the lower nature does not survive it; it simply burns away and leaves the ground clear.
Lime: the chalky matter that looks solid yet crumbles to dust in fire, the outer thoughts that seem substantial until trial exposes them Thorns: the choking cares and sharp resentments that grow wild in a person, dry fuel that flares and is gone Fire: the refining heat within that consumes whatever is only chaff and leaves the true self standing
Esoteric lens
If the busy parts of my life burned off, what would be left standing?
Much of what you call yourself is a bundle of habits and opinions held together by repetition. When the bundle loosens you do not vanish, you find out what was actually there.
The way forward is by subtraction, not addition. What drops away under pressure was never load-bearing.
Adversity does not break a person, it shows what the person was made of. Everything decorative burns off first, and that is a service.
