Isaiah 51:9 Meaning Awake
Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of Yahweh! Awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn’t it you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster?

Awake, awake. The call is repeated because the pull of sleep is strong, and the mind would keep you dreaming.

EGO & BEING
Awake, awake. The call is repeated because the pull of sleep is strong, and the mind would keep you dreaming. To awaken is to put on a strength that is not the ego's force but the quiet power of pure presence.
This power is ancient, older than your personal story, the same awareness that has always been here beneath every passing form. The dragon it wounds is the deep unconsciousness in you, the old pain and the reactive patterns that seem to run your life. Presence does not defeat them by struggling harder. When you bring clear awareness to them, they can no longer work in the dark, and what once controlled you slowly loses its grip.

PSYCHOANALYSIS
The cry for an old strength to wake up is really a call to something ancient inside the person himself. The mind carries the deposits of countless generations, and in a moment of need a man can reach down and rouse a power far older than his single life.
The monster cut to pieces in the old stories is the pull of the formless deep, the part of the mind that would swallow a person back into sleep and confusion. Every age has faced it, and the same struggle repeats in each person. Waking that inherited strength means turning to face this inner dragon rather than being dragged under, so a person can stand as a separate, conscious self instead of dissolving back into the dark.
Ego v. Being lens
What old pattern in me would start to loosen if I simply looked at it straight?
The word Buddha simply means the one who woke up. The whole path is seeing clearly what was moving in you unseen.
The real battle is inward, against the habits that drive you without asking. It is won by steady awareness, not by force.
Bring the hidden thing out into the light and look at it. What cannot survive being seen clearly starts to lose its grip.
