Isaiah 54:5 · World English Bible

Isaiah 54:5 Meaning For Your Maker Is Your Husband

For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of Armies is his name. The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He will be called the God of the whole earth.

What does Isaiah 54:5 mean?

The Maker who weds the soul is a person's own imagination, and the marriage is the way an assumption fastens itself to feeling until the two are one flesh. A wife bears what her husband plants in her.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The Maker who weds the soul is a person's own imagination, and the marriage is the way an assumption fastens itself to feeling until the two are one flesh. A wife bears what her husband plants in her. Consciousness bears what imagination impresses upon it, faithfully, without argument. To be married to the Maker is to accept that whatever is deeply assumed will be delivered into the world as fact.

The Redeemer carries the same weight. What imagines a person into trouble can imagine him out of it. That power answers to no rank in the visible world and bows to no circumstance. Scripture calls it the God of the whole earth because nothing stands outside its reach. The husband of the soul is the assuming power within, and everything a life becomes is issued from that union.

Live Isaiah 54:5 today

  1. Pick one thing you keep saying about yourself, that you are always late, always broke, always tired. Sit with it for a minute and ask whether you want to stay married to it.
  2. The next time your partner or a close friend repeats a hard story about themselves, do not feed it. Speak to them as the person they would be if it were already resolved.
  3. When a deadline or a hard conversation presses in, stop trying to force the outside. Settle one clear feeling inside about how this turns out, and then act from there.

What have you quietly committed yourself to that you never actually chose?
