Isaiah 6:8 Meaning I Heard the Lord’s Voice

The voice asking who will go is your own awareness of being, and the one who answers is the same awareness stepping willingly into a chosen state. Nothing outside is calling. The whole exchange happens within one person: the power that conceives asks, and the same power volunteers to become what it has conceived.

Here am I is the readiness to occupy the desired end and carry it into expression, to be the one sent into the assumption. You are the sender and the sent, the god who descends into a state and the god who lives it out. The answer is not reluctant and not bargained. It is the free consent to be the thing imagined until it appears. When the awareness in you names an end and you say send me, you have agreed to become it, and becoming it in feeling is the only sending there is.

A call left open costs nothing to admire, and admiration is where most destinies quietly end. The gap between hearing and answering is the dangerous stretch, because deliberation lets the nervous system price the thing out, and a price imagined always runs higher than a price lived.

Volunteering before the assignment is described forfeits every later argument about terms; there is nothing to reread and no clause to plead. What God receives in that instant is a man rather than a task, which is why the long years of speaking to people who would not listen were execution and not a fresh choice each morning. A person who needs the assignment before the answer stays available forever and is never sent.
