Jeremiah 17:10 · World English Bible
“I, Yahweh, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”
He knows the treachery of the eyes and what the breasts conceal: nothing inside stays private A line of the Quran that Sufis return to constantly. Everyone carries a private version of themselves, the one with the motives left in, the small resentment behind the favor.
From the Sufism reading below.
The same verse, read by one tradition.

SUFISM
He knows the treachery of the eyes and what the breasts conceal: nothing inside stays private A line of the Quran that Sufis return to constantly. Everyone carries a private version of themselves, the one with the motives left in, the small resentment behind the favor. Knowing that this version is already seen takes the point out of managing it, and a person can stop working so hard on the surface.
Ghurūr: Fooling yourself about where you stand Al-Ghazali warns how easily a person mistakes their own condition for a healthy one. From the inside, motives always look reasonable, and people grade themselves on the intentions they can name while missing the ones running underneath. A look from outside our own accounting is the only thing that reaches what we have hidden from ourselves.
Murāqaba: Living aware that you are seen The Prophet described worship as acting as though you see God, and knowing He sees you when you cannot. Someone who holds this stops splitting life into a watched part and an unwatched part. The private hours begin to match the public ones, and the effort of keeping two selves running quietly drops away.
Deeds are lifeless shapes and sincerity is the spirit in them: what makes an act count A line from Ibn Ata Allah. Two people can do the same helpful thing, one meaning it and one performing it, and no watcher could tell them apart. The difference sits in the why, and the why gets weighed, so a long record of good acts can still come out light.
Muḥāsaba: Going over your own account Al-Ghazali describes sitting with the day before sleep and walking through it honestly, one action at a time. Looking while you can still change something is easier than meeting the same list with nothing left to do. Checked often, faults stay small enough to face instead of growing into a pile a person avoids.
Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it: nothing drops out of the count A line of the Quran. Small things feel like they evaporate, the patience nobody thanked you for, the sharp reply you swallowed. Both hold, the quiet good and the wrong nobody found out about, so nothing a person does gets lost.
Sufism lens
If the why were visible, which of today's good acts would still look good?
Know that there is an eye that sees and an ear that hears, and everything you do is recorded. So the private version of you is the one that matters.
The same act done for show, done out of obligation, or done freely is three different acts. The weight sits in the why, not in the deed anyone can photograph.
He told himself to stop performing goodness and simply be a good person, since the show costs more than the thing. Nobody needs to see it for it to be real.
