Jeremiah 2:8 Meaning The Priests Didn’t Say

The priests didn’t say, ‘Where is Yahweh?’ and those who handle the law didn’t know me. The rulers also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal and followed things that do not profit.

What does Jeremiah 2:8 mean?

The faculties meant to keep a person aligned with the higher self have all turned outward and lost the thread. The priest is the reasoning mind that should tend the inner flame but no longer asks where the divine current is; those who handle the law are the rules kept by rote with no living contact behind them.

The faculties meant to keep a person aligned with the higher self have all turned outward and lost the thread. The priest is the reasoning mind that should tend the inner flame but no longer asks where the divine current is; those who handle the law are the rules kept by rote with no living contact behind them. When the guiding powers of consciousness face the outer world instead of the light within, they serve a lesser master.

Baal is the outward, material force, worship of the visible and the animal appetites. The picture is a mind whose every leader has abandoned its center and chased things that give nothing back, following the low nature instead of the high.

Priests: the reasoning mind, meant to tend the inner flame and keep contact with the higher self Baal: the outward material force, the pull of the visible world and the animal appetites

  1. Pick one routine you do automatically, a prayer, a workout, a morning ritual, and do it today while actually present to why you started it.
  2. When you are about to answer someone with the standard line, your policy, your usual advice, stop and respond to the actual human in front of you instead.
  3. Under pressure, when it is easiest to hide behind process, ask once: what is the real thing here? Then act on that answer, not on the procedure that protects you.
