Jeremiah 32:27 Meaning Behold

Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?

What does Jeremiah 32:27 mean?

This is spoken to a man who has just been told his city will fall and yet commanded to buy a field in it, an absurdity to the reasoning mind. Into that impossibility comes a single presence that is the life within all flesh, all form, everything that lives.

Ego v. Being

This is spoken to a man who has just been told his city will fall and yet commanded to buy a field in it, an absurdity to the reasoning mind. Into that impossibility comes a single presence that is the life within all flesh, all form, everything that lives.

Is there anything too hard for me. The question dissolves the sense of limitation the mind is trapped in. That which animates all things is not confined by any one situation. When you rest as that awareness rather than as the small anxious self, the walls of the impossible open, because you are no longer identified with the thing that thought it was stuck.

Live Jeremiah 32:27 today

  1. Pick the one thing you keep calling impossible, the money, the diagnosis, the repair, and sit with it for two minutes without trying to solve it. Just breathe and feel that you are alive while the problem is unsolved.
  2. When a friend tells you their situation is hopeless, resist fixing it. Say you are here, and let the quiet in you be bigger than the panic in the room.
  3. Next time a work deadline makes your chest tighten, put the phone face down and feel your feet on the floor for ten seconds. The task stays the same size. You stop being the small frightened thing facing it.

What have I decided is too hard, and who is the one who decided?

The same truth in other traditions

Tao Te Ching

The Tao is the mother of all things, present in each one and bound by none. What seems blocked to the calculating mind moves freely for the one who stops forcing.

Upanishads

The same self that is in you is the self in everything. When you know yourself as that, your private limits stop being the measure of what is possible.
