Jeremiah 4:5 Meaning Declare in Judah

Declare in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, ‘Blow the trumpet in the land!’ Cry aloud and say, ‘Assemble yourselves! Let’s go into the fortified cities!’

What does Jeremiah 4:5 mean?

Judah means praise and Jerusalem is the vision of peace, the high center of the being where the divine consciousness is seated, and the alarm is sounded there first because danger to the whole person is announced from the ruling center outward. The trumpet is the inner call that rouses every scattered faculty to attention, gathering what has been dispersed through the land of the body back toward safety.

When threat approaches, the powers of a person are summoned home.

The defenced cities are the strong, guarded centers within, the fortified states of consciousness where the being can hold firm against what assails it. The call is to draw inward and consolidate, pulling the wandering forces of the self into the protected strongholds rather than leaving them exposed across the open field.

Live Jeremiah 4:5 today

  1. When you feel yourself frayed and spread thin today, stop and take three slow breaths with your eyes closed. That is the call home, and it takes twenty seconds.
  2. When a conversation starts pulling you in ten directions, say you need a minute and step outside. Come back gathered instead of reacting from a scattered place.
  3. In a hard meeting or a tense call, pull your attention back from everyone's faces to your own feet on the floor. Answer from there, where you cannot be knocked over so easily.

Where are my pieces scattered right now, and what would it take to call them in?

The wise one draws the senses in as a turtle pulls in its limbs. When the world presses, the move is inward, not outward.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

Retreat into yourself. No place is quieter or more free from trouble than a person's own inner ground, and you can go there in a moment.

Tao Te Ching 52

Close the openings for a while and your strength returns. Stay scattered among outside things and you spend yourself with nothing kept back.
