Job 27:6 · World English Bible

Job 27:6 Meaning I Hold Fast to My Righteousness

I hold fast to my righteousness, and will not let it go. My heart will not reproach me so long as I live.

What does Job 27:6 mean?

Righteousness is the settled consciousness of already being what a person wants to be. To hold it fast is to keep that inner conviction steady, however loudly the outer facts argue against it.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Righteousness is the settled consciousness of already being what a person wants to be. To hold it fast is to keep that inner conviction steady, however loudly the outer facts argue against it. Sin means only to miss the mark. Job stands as a man refusing to fall short, refusing to trade his assumed certainty for the evidence of the moment.

The heart is the soul, the deep self that either accepts or accuses. When a person holds the feeling of the fulfilled wish without wavering, nothing within rises up to reproach him, because he has not abandoned what he claimed. Appearances change; the held state does not have to. He keeps the consciousness of the answered desire alive in himself until the world outside is made to match it.

Self-Help

A man's verdict on himself is the last thing still giving orders once his health and his name are gone.

Ruin offers the same trade every time: agree to a smaller name and the accusing stops. Relief arrives at once; what goes with it is the standard that had been selecting every response, because how a man defines himself decides which options are even his to take.

Holding that definition keeps his heart returning a clean finding; the finding sets the state he can reach on the worst morning; the state sets the emotion; the emotion decides whether he keeps pressing his case or agrees to disappear. Friends pressing him to confess a guilt he does not carry are handing him a new label, and behavior reorganizes to match whatever a man agrees to be called. Take their version and he loses the standing to bring his case to God, the one thing ruin never touched.

Live Job 27:6 today

  1. Decide one thing about yourself this morning and keep it through the day, even when the day disagrees. Do not check the evidence hourly.
  2. When someone talks you down from something you quietly know is true for you, hear them out and keep it anyway. Agreement is not required.
  3. In the meeting or the hard hour when the facts argue against you, hold your inner footing without arguing out loud. Steady is not the same as stubborn.

What do I know to be true about myself that I keep surrendering to the evidence of the day?
