Job 33:14 Meaning For God Speaks Once

For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.

What does Job 33:14 mean?

God speaks through the imagination, and the two ways he speaks are the daydream awake and the dream at night. Both come from the one dreamer within, the awareness of being that is your own I AM, and both are always addressing you.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

God speaks through the imagination, and the two ways he speaks are the daydream awake and the dream at night. Both come from the one dreamer within, the awareness of being that is your own I AM, and both are always addressing you. A man misses it because he treats these inward movements as idle mental noise rather than as the voice that is actually shaping his days.

The first speaking is the desire that rises and the scene you rehearse while awake. The second is the night dream, which arrives as a small parable and shows what has already been set in motion. Neither is overheard because a person is looking outward for a sign and never turns to the only place the word is spoken. What speaks in you is what forms your life, and it goes on speaking whether or not it is noticed.

Live Job 33:14 today

  1. Take the daydream you keep returning to seriously for once. It is not noise filling a gap, it is telling you what you have actually settled on.
  2. Tell one person about a dream you had or a scene you keep imagining, and say it plainly instead of laughing it off.
  3. Put the phone down at a red light or in a grocery line and let your mind go where it wants. What shows up there is the voice you have been missing by looking outward.

What has been speaking in me all along that I have been calling idle thinking?

The same truth in other traditions

Zhuangzi

You have heard the piping of men, he says, but not the piping of earth, and not the piping of heaven. The quietest of the three is the one almost nobody listens for.

Upanishads

The waking state and the dream state are both the one self at work. What appears in each is the same awareness wearing a different light.
