Job is every child born of woman, the innocent one whose own fears created the disaster that fell on him, now purified by it into pure being. That the Lord brought the evil says the cause was never outside him; you are the author of the conflicts of your own world, and the same power that let them come restores what was lost. The eye that was opened sees this at last: one unseen self has been playing every part.
So the brethren and friends return, share his bread, and each brings gold, because the world mirrors the inner state and turns to bless the one who has come through. The gold and the feast are outer proof of an inner completion. Nothing was ever done to him from beyond. He suffered his own assumptions, he outlasted them, and the world he had frightened now sits at his table and pays him honor.
