Confidence placed in a single source is what turns an ordinary disappointment into ruin.

Certainty loads a gap with force. A traveler with no expectation of water finds an empty bed and keeps walking. One who budgeted his route around it meets the identical bed and meets ruin, because the belief he arrived with sets the state, and the state decides whether this is an inconvenience or a death.

What can be changed is where confidence gets placed and how much of a life depends on one source delivering. A man who skips that revision meets every future disappointment at full strength and begins calling the world treacherous when the arithmetic was his.

Live Job 6:20 today

  1. Name the one thing you are quietly counting on to fix this season, a job offer, a reply, a person coming through. Ask what you would still have tomorrow if it did not land.
  2. Tell one person what you are hoping for instead of carrying it alone, so the weight is not resting on a single outcome and a single pair of shoulders.
  3. When something falls through this week, before you call the world unfair, ask whether you had stacked too much of yourself onto one answer.

How much of my peace right now is resting on one thing going the way I planned?
