John 10:38 Meaning But If I Do Them

But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

What does John 10:38 mean?

A mind still bound to fear cannot always believe love's word, but it can be reached through what love does. The miracle asks for no doctrine first; it simply shifts perception and lets the change be its own evidence.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

A mind still bound to fear cannot always believe love's word, but it can be reached through what love does. The miracle asks for no doctrine first; it simply shifts perception and lets the change be its own evidence. When a mind sees peace where it expected conflict, or innocence where it was sure of guilt, it is being shown from the inside that the Source dwells within, closer than the fear that argued otherwise.

The indwelling is not a distant claim to be accepted on faith but a fact the mind can feel the moment it looks with love. The works are only love made visible, and they persuade because they let the mind recognize what was already true of itself.

Works: love made visible in the world of form, the miracle that shows the mind from within what argument alone could not. Father: the Source dwelling within the mind, nearer than the fear that denies it.

  1. Today, instead of trying to talk yourself into feeling calm, do one small kind thing and let the feeling catch up. Clean the kitchen, send the email you owe, make the bed.
  2. With someone you are low-key annoyed at, skip the conversation about it and just do them a quiet favor. Watch how the annoyance changes once you have acted differently.
  3. In a tense meeting or a sharp group chat, do not make the case for staying calm. Just be the one who stays calm, and let the room feel the difference.

Where am I waiting to feel better before I act, when acting is what would show me the truth?
