John 18:9 Meaning That the Word Might Be Fulfilled

that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none.”

What does John 18:9 mean?

Nothing given into the care of love is ever lost, for what the Source entrusts to the awakened teacher cannot fall out of the wholeness it belongs to. A mind may seem to wander into fear, but its innocence is held safe, kept by a love that does not let go of what is its own.

Nothing given into the care of love is ever lost, for what the Source entrusts to the awakened teacher cannot fall out of the wholeness it belongs to. A mind may seem to wander into fear, but its innocence is held safe, kept by a love that does not let go of what is its own.

This is the assurance beneath every appearance of loss. What looks like a mind abandoned to the dark is only a mind that has not yet remembered, still held, still counted, still loved. Love keeps perfect account of its own, and none who belong to it are ever truly gone.

Father: the Source that entrusts every mind to the awakened teacher's keeping, the love from whose wholeness nothing given can fall away

Live John 18:9 today

  1. Think of the version of yourself you are most ashamed of, five years ago or last Tuesday. That person did not forfeit anything, and nothing about you got written off.
  2. Reach out to someone who has gone quiet, with no agenda and no accounting for how long it has been. Just say you were thinking of them and leave the door open.
  3. When someone you love is at their worst and it is hard to stay, stay anyway. Being lost for a while is not the same as being gone.

Who have I written off, including myself?

No one who comes to the door is turned away, however long they stood outside. The waiting was never a sign of being unwanted.

The clouds move across the sky, and the sky loses nothing. What is hidden for a while was never taken.

A thing can be forgotten and remain whole. Nothing that belongs to the way can fall out of it by wandering.
