CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The empty tomb frightens before it frees. A mind still certain that life is a body in a grave runs in alarm when the body is gone, reading absence as loss rather than release. They have taken him away is fear's first reading of resurrection, because the ego can only interpret the missing corpse as a theft, never as the truth that love was never in the grave at all.

The running to others, the not knowing where, is the honest confusion of a mind on the edge of a discovery it cannot yet hold. What seems taken has only been set free from the one place love was never contained. The distress is real, but it is grief mistaking an open door for an empty room.

Sepulchre: the belief that life is held in the body and ends in the grave, the tomb where the mind expects to find what it loves. Simon Peter and the other disciple: the parts of the mind called to witness, the faculties that must come and look before fear can give way to sight.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The empty tomb is the deepest good news wearing the mask of loss. She reads an absence and calls it theft, when what has happened is a birth. The sepulchre is the skull, the hollow of the head where the awareness of being lies buried in every person. Its emptiness means the one laid there has risen and walked out. She runs to Simon, whose name means to hear, and to the disciple Jesus loved, so hearing and love are the first faculties told. Not stolen, but raised.

The awareness a person feels within, quietly at work behind the eyes, is the Lord in the sepulchre. When it wakes, the outer signs read like emptiness and confusion at first. What looks like something taken away is the very self stirring free. The place you cannot find him is the place he has left, having become alive.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

The empty tomb read as loss is the moment the higher self can no longer be found where the body laid it, because it has passed out of the flesh that once held it. The running woman is the feeling nature racing between the powers of the person, carrying alarm to faith and to love, the disciple loved. The sepulchre is the skull, the stone hollow where the buried Christ-mind lay in the dark; when awareness rises the cavity is found open and vacant, and the lower faculties, still bound to sight, cannot say where the risen power has gone. The confusion is the whole point, for what has left the grave of the head cannot be located by the senses that only ever knew it dead.

When the inner light lifts out of the dark chamber of the skull, the parts of a person that live by seeing declare it lost, because it now lives above their reach.

Sepulchre: the skull, the stone chamber where the buried higher mind lies in darkness until it rises Simon Peter: the faculty of faith within, the rock the person runs to first The disciple whom Jesus loved: the power of love in a person, the one nearest the awakened self

  1. When a plan you were holding tightly falls apart, sit with the gap for a minute before you rush to fill it with a replacement. Let it be an opening and not a robbery.
  2. When a friend calls in that spinning, nothing-makes-sense state, don't explain it away. Stay with them in the not knowing until the panic loses its edge.
  3. Next time your first thought about a change at work is that something has been taken from you, test the other reading: maybe something has been let go of, and you don't know yet what it makes room for.

What am I calling a loss that might turn out to be an opening I can't see the far side of yet?

Tao Te Ching 11

The usefulness of a cup is the hollow inside it, and of a room the empty space. What looks like nothing there is often the thing that makes it work.

Zen

A cup already full can receive nothing. Emptiness is not a loss to be repaired but the room in which something new can arrive.

Taoism · Zhuangzi

When his wife died, Zhuangzi sat and sang instead of mourning, saying she had changed form the way the seasons turn. To wail over it, he said, would be to misread a transformation.
