CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Healing is accomplished in the mind before any change appears in the world. The father is told his son lives while the son is still far off and unseen, and he is asked to accept the truth without yet having the body's proof. This is the movement of faith, the mind trusting the word of love ahead of the evidence its eyes would demand.

And the healing holds because he believes and turns to go, no longer standing guard over his fear. When the mind accepts that what love says is already so, it releases its grip, and what it feared was lost is found to have been safe all along.

Son: what the mind holds most precious and fears to lose, the beloved whose safety it cannot secure by watching The man: the part of the mind that must lay down its demand for proof and rest instead on the word of love

SELF-HELP

Self-Help

What you are willing to do while nothing has visibly changed is the only honest measure of what you believe.

A word becomes a belief at the moment it changes what a person does next; everything before that is interest. He arrived to drag Jesus twenty miles downhill to a bedside and walked out having abandoned the only plan he had, because his state changed on the spot and the new state sent him home empty-handed.

The road home is where the certainty gets paid for, one hour at a time, with a boy still dying as far as anyone can see. The servants' news meets him as confirmation of what he was already carrying and then gets remembered as its cause, which is how the loop seals. A man who needs the report before he will start walking is still standing where he was when it arrives.

Live John 4:50 today

  1. Name the thing you keep checking on today, a test result, a message, a number, and go two hours without checking it. Give your attention to the hour you are actually in.
  2. Let someone you love handle something their own way without following up to make sure. Your watching was never what kept them safe.
  3. When the worry spins up on your commute or in bed, stop arguing with it and say simply, I do not need proof right now, then go back to what you were doing. Peace comes before the evidence, not after.

What are you standing guard over that was never actually in your hands?

Tao Te Ching 48

The way forward is by subtracting, not adding, until grasping stops and things come to rest on their own. What you let go of was not the thing holding you up.

Bhagavad Gita 2

Steadiness comes from doing your part and releasing your grip on the outcome. The clinging, not the situation, is what keeps the mind shaking.

Epictetus taught that we suffer less from events than from our demand that they go a certain way. Drop the demand and you can walk on.
