John 5:21 Meaning For as the Father Raises the Dead
For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.

John 5:21 · World English Bible
For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.
To be raised from the dead is not something that waits beyond the grave. Many walk through their days already dead, lost so completely in thought and the mind's endless demands that they never feel the aliveness that is their deeper nature.
From the Ego v. Being reading below.
The same verse, read by one tradition.

EGO & BEING
To be raised from the dead is not something that waits beyond the grave. Many walk through their days already dead, lost so completely in thought and the mind's endless demands that they never feel the aliveness that is their deeper nature.
To be quickened is to awaken to that aliveness now, to feel the living presence beneath the noise of the mind. This is what awakening offers: not a promise for after death, but the chance to become fully alive right now, awake and present instead of lost in your own thinking.
Ego v. Being lens
How much of today did I actually live, and how much did I spend inside my own thinking?
Some people are dead long before they are buried, busy all day and absent from their own lives. Being alive is a thing you have to actually do.
The whole practice is to wake up. Not someday, not elsewhere, but to this breath, this floor, this sound in the room.
There is a life in you under the noise, and love's work is to wake it. Most of us sleep right through our own aliveness.
