John 5:24 Meaning Most Certainly I Tell You

Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

What does John 5:24 mean?

Everlasting life is not a reward postponed until the body ends. It is a present crossing, the moment a mind stops listening to the voice of fear and takes the word of love as true instead.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Everlasting life is not a reward postponed until the body ends. It is a present crossing, the moment a mind stops listening to the voice of fear and takes the word of love as true instead. Whoever hears in this way has already left condemnation behind, because condemnation lives only in a mind that still believes guilt is real and must be paid for.

Death and life are not two conditions of the body but two ways of seeing. To dwell in judgment, forever weighing what deserves punishment, is what is meant by death. To trust that the self was sent by love and remains innocent is to pass into life at once. Nothing outward changes. A mind simply lays down the belief that it stands accused, and finds it was never truly dying at all.

EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

There is a kind of hearing that goes deeper than the ears. You know it from those rare moments when something is said and it lands in a place that words usually cannot reach, and for an instant the endless commentary in your head goes quiet. That silence is not empty. It is the most alive thing in you, the awareness that was here before the thinking started and remains when it stops.

To hear the word this way is already to have passed from death unto life. The death spoken of is not the body's ending but the sleep of living inside a stream of thought, mistaking that stream for who you are. When you truly listen, you step out of it, and what you find has no beginning and no end. This is why there is no condemnation here. Condemnation belongs to the mind that measures and judges. Where you are present, there is only life, quietly aware of itself, needing nothing added.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

Death and life here are 2 states of consciousness held in the same person, not 2 ends of the calendar. To be dead is to live asleep in the flesh, driven by appetite and never awake to the self behind the eyes; to pass into life is for that inner witness to open and stay open. The crossing happens now, the moment the higher word is heard within and trusted, a change of awareness rather than an event waiting at the grave.

Condemnation is the self-division of a person still split against his own nature, and everlasting life is the unbroken awareness that no longer sleeps. What most call dying has already been crossed once the sleeper wakes inside the living body.

Live John 5:24 today

  1. Pick the heaviest thought you have been carrying today, the one that says you are in trouble, and ask whether anything is actually wrong right now or whether only the verdict is. Then put the phone down and go outside for ten minutes.
  2. With one person, drop the quiet case you have been building against them. Say nothing about it. Just stop prosecuting and see how the next ten minutes feel.
  3. When a message lands that makes your stomach drop, breathe once and read it again as information, not as a sentence being handed down. Answer from there.

What would today feel like if I were not on trial?

Two monks argue over whether the flag or the wind is moving. The teacher says it is your mind that moves. Nothing outside had to change for everything to change.

Tao Te Ching 16

Return to stillness and you return to your root. Living from the root, you are no longer frightened by loss, and the fear of ending loosens its hold.

Bhagavad Gita 2

What is real in you was never born and cannot die. The dread you carry belongs to a self you only thought you were.
