John 6:65 Meaning He Said

He said, “For this cause I have said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”

What does John 6:65 mean?

Awakening cannot be seized by the will; it is given, and it is given from within. The Father is the higher mind, the right hemisphere, the divine center that already dwells in a person with no priest or mediator standing between.

Esoteric

Awakening cannot be seized by the will; it is given, and it is given from within. The Father is the higher mind, the right hemisphere, the divine center that already dwells in a person with no priest or mediator standing between. The drawing toward the risen self begins there, in that higher center, not in the straining effort of the lower mind that tries to force its own arrival.

True meditation is nature sweeping a person up, not an act of pushing. The lower self cannot climb to the higher by wanting it hard enough. The pull comes down from the higher mind, and a person waits and is carried, rather than reaching and grasping.

Live John 6:65 today

  1. Sit for five minutes today without trying to reach any particular state. Let whatever comes come, and let the not-trying be the whole practice.
  2. Stop pushing the person you keep trying to change. Be good company instead, and let whatever is going to open in them open on its own clock.
  3. When you hit a wall at work and more effort is clearly not working, step away for ten minutes. Walk, do dishes, stare out a window, and let the answer arrive sideways the way it usually does.

Where are you straining for something that only comes when you stop pulling?

Do not pull the shoot to make it grow. Effortless action means getting your straining out of the way so the thing can happen.

Zen

You cannot force enlightenment any more than you can force sleep. Both come when the grasping finally gives up.

Sufism · Rumi

Do not worry that you are not yet calling out to the beloved. Your longing to call was already the answer coming toward you.
