John 8:56 Meaning Your Father Abraham Rejoiced to See

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it, and was glad.

What does John 8:56 mean?

A man can be glad over something that has not yet happened in the outer world, because he has already seen it happen within. Abraham stands for faith, and faith is not hope for a distant reward but the seeing of an end so clearly that the seeing itself becomes the arrival.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

A man can be glad over something that has not yet happened in the outer world, because he has already seen it happen within. Abraham stands for faith, and faith is not hope for a distant reward but the seeing of an end so clearly that the seeing itself becomes the arrival. He rejoiced not at a memory but at a scene held in imagination, and the gladness was the proof that he had received it.

That is how desire is answered. The one who feels the wish fulfilled before any evidence appears has already crossed into its day. His joy is no bet on the future. He stands inside the answer while the calendar still reads as before. Gladness ahead of the fact is the surest sign the fact is on its way.

Live John 8:56 today

  1. Before anything has changed, let yourself feel glad about the thing you want, really glad, for one quiet minute this morning. No bargaining, no "if it works out."
  2. Tell one person your good news early, in the sense of saying how good it feels, not claiming it has happened. Let the gladness be out loud somewhere.
  3. When the day goes sideways and the evidence says no, hold the same gladness anyway through the commute home. Not forced cheer, just refusing to hand your mood to the scoreboard.

What am I postponing my happiness until, and why does it get to decide?
