Jonah 3:10 Meaning God Saw Their Works

God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. God relented of the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn’t do it.

What does Jonah 3:10 mean?

What gets recorded about a person is never the feeling that moved them, only the behavior that followed it. Dread has a short half life, and a person who feels it deeply and then does nothing has only rehearsed an old identity with more emotion attached.

What gets recorded about a person is never the feeling that moved them, only the behavior that followed it.

Dread has a short half life, and a person who feels it deeply and then does nothing has only rehearsed an old identity with more emotion attached. God moved on changed behavior, and that is the only evidence a person's own identity ever accepts: action installs the belief, the belief holds the state, the state sets the emotion, and repeated emotion compounds into a destiny.

That turn away from ruin counted because it reached their hands before the mind could talk it back down into a mood. Anyone who leaves the site of a decision holding only the insight ends up with a collection of realizations and the same life.

Live Jonah 3:10 today

  1. Pick the one habit you felt bad about this week and change the setup today, move the app off the home screen, put the shoes by the door, set the alarm earlier. Feeling bad again is not a plan.
  2. If you hurt someone, do the repair rather than carrying the guilt around. A short message and a changed behavior beat a long private apology they never hear.
  3. When a hard piece of feedback lands at work or at home, skip the defense and do one visible thing differently in the next day so they can see it rather than hear about it.

What are you still only feeling sorry about?

Judge a person by their conduct, not their talk. What they do is the only account of them anyone can read.

Think nothing light, good or bad: a water jar fills drop by drop. A life is the sum of the small deeds a person keeps repeating.

Study is not the main thing, the deed is. The one whose doing outweighs their learning stands on something solid.
