Joshua 1:11 Meaning Pass Through the Middle of the Camp

“Pass through the middle of the camp, and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare food; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you to possess.’ ”

What does Joshua 1:11 mean?

Joshua is the Christ in you, your own imagination, the same figure as Jesus, and he moves the people to make ready for a crossing. The people are your own thoughts, and the food they prepare is the mental diet you feed on, the inner conversation and images you carry as you approach the change.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Joshua is the Christ in you, your own imagination, the same figure as Jesus, and he moves the people to make ready for a crossing. The people are your own thoughts, and the food they prepare is the mental diet you feed on, the inner conversation and images you carry as you approach the change. Three days is a short, steady stretch of holding that diet faithfully, long enough for an assumption to firm into fact.

Jordan is the boundary between the state you are in and the state you desire, and to pass over is to move inwardly from one to the other. The land is any condition you can mentally stand in and feel as real; wherever you can occupy in imagination is already given to you. Whatever state a person can inwardly enter and hold becomes his own. Feed on the wish as fulfilled for three quiet days, cross over in feeling, and the ground you stood on within becomes the ground you live on.

Live Joshua 1:11 today

  1. Pick one thing you want and give it three days of the same inner diet: last thing at night and first thing in the morning, you are already living it. Nothing dramatic, just steady.
  2. Tell one person what you are moving toward, in the present tense, as a plain fact about your life. Saying it out loud to someone firms it up.
  3. When the day feeds you bad news, a worrying number, an unread reply, keep your inner conversation on the far side of the crossing instead of rehearsing the worst.

What have I been feeding my mind this week, and would three steady days of something better change what I am walking into?

Buddhism · Dhammapada

What you feed the mind on becomes the mind. Watch the diet of your thinking the way you watch what you eat.

Taoism · Tao Te Ching

Small and steady does what force cannot. Water gets through stone by staying at it, not by striking hard once.

Judaism · Pirkei Avot

Prepare yourself before the thing arrives. The readiness is quiet work done in advance, not a rush at the gate.
