Joshua 1:3 Meaning I Have Given You Every Place

I have given you every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, as I told Moses.

What does Joshua 1:3 mean?

To tread on a place is to occupy it in imagination, to walk through the desired condition as though it were already yours. Whatever ground a man covers inwardly becomes his to possess, for the inner walking is the taking.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

To tread on a place is to occupy it in imagination, to walk through the desired condition as though it were already yours. Whatever ground a man covers inwardly becomes his to possess, for the inner walking is the taking. The promise is not of land seized by force later but of states entered now and thereby owned.

The foot is attention pressed down into a scene until it feels solid underneath. What a person moves through in his mind with the weight of belief is deeded to him in fact. Nothing outside grants the territory; the granting happens the moment the state is truly inhabited. A man holds only the country he has already walked in feeling, and that country, sooner or later, meets him in the world.

Live Joshua 1:3 today

  1. On your commute, instead of scrolling, spend the ride inside the ordinary day you want, the kitchen, the desk, the voices, until it feels solid under your feet.
  2. Before you see someone you find difficult, walk through the easy version of that meeting in your mind, the one where it goes well. Then go in.
  3. When the day turns stressful, pause in the hallway or the grocery line and stand, for thirty seconds, in the feeling of the thing already handled.

Which room in my life have I never once walked through in my mind as already mine?

Taoism · Zhuangzi

Zhuangzi dreamed he was a butterfly and woke unsure which was which. What you fully inhabit is not less real for being inward.

Buddhism · Dhammapada

Everything begins in the mind. Wherever thought goes first, the life follows and makes its home there.

Sufism · Ibn Arabi

Imagination is a real country. What the heart walks through there takes shape in the world outside.
