Judges 5:20 · World English Bible
From the sky the stars fought. From their courses, they fought against Sisera.
The battle is not on a plain but overhead, in the higher regions of the mind where the ordered powers of consciousness move on their own fixed tracks. Stars are the awakened faculties, the lights within a person set in their appointed courses, and when a person is aligned these move as one force.

ESOTERIC
The battle is not on a plain but overhead, in the higher regions of the mind where the ordered powers of consciousness move on their own fixed tracks. Stars are the awakened faculties, the lights within a person set in their appointed courses, and when a person is aligned these move as one force. Sisera is the oppressor within, the tyrannizing lower ego that has ruled from below and driven the inner tribes into hiding.
The stars fighting against him is the raised powers of the mind turning as a single sky against the small self, so the compulsion that once commanded is overwhelmed from above by the very order it tried to bend. What the ancients staged as armies is the moment a person's higher lights, moving in their courses, break the grip of the ruling flesh.
Heaven: the higher region of the mind, the raised plane from which awakened consciousness acts. The stars in their courses: the lights and faculties within a person, moving as one ordered force along their appointed tracks. Sisera: the oppressor within, the tyrannizing lower ego that rules from below until the higher order overturns it.
Esoteric lens
What in you would simply be outnumbered if the rest of your life were in order?
He looked up at the ordered movement of the sky to remember that his own small compulsions were not the ruling power in him, and that reason moved on a larger track.
The many faculties of a person are described as moving in harmony when they are turned toward the one light within, and in that harmony the small grasping self loses its command.
When a person comes into line with the way things actually move, they stop pushing and the obstacle is simply carried off by a current larger than themselves.
