Leviticus 11:7 · World English Bible
The pig, because it has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn’t chew the cud, is unclean to you.
The swine feeds on the lowest carnal thoughts, the coarse pull of the flesh that religion learned to fear on the plate while missing the mind it stands for. What makes it unclean is not the animal but the appetite it carries: thoughts swallowed from the lowest pits of the physical nature, taken in whole and never worked over.

ESOTERIC
The swine feeds on the lowest carnal thoughts, the coarse pull of the flesh that religion learned to fear on the plate while missing the mind it stands for. What makes it unclean is not the animal but the appetite it carries: thoughts swallowed from the lowest pits of the physical nature, taken in whole and never worked over. To chew the cud is to bring what you take in back up and think it through, to weigh a thing before it becomes part of you. The carnal mind gulps and does not weigh. That is the uncleanness, and it lives inside a person as the habit of feeding on the low without ever pausing to understand what is being fed.
