The innermost place cannot be entered casually, at any time the mind chooses, driven by curiosity or ambition. There is a threshold within where the noise of the self must first fall silent. To come before the deepest presence still carrying the whole restless personality is to be undone by it.
And the presence appears in a cloud, not in sharp mental clarity. The thinking mind wants to grasp and define, to see the sacred as one more object it can name. But the depth is met only through a kind of unknowing, a soft and formless awareness. When you approach the center of your being that way, quiet and empty of the demanding self, you are not destroyed but received.
