Fear does not wait for an enemy; it manufactures one out of whatever sound is available and then runs from it.
Interpretation happens before the body moves: a sound arrives carrying no meaning, the mind supplies a pursuer, the state floods, and the muscles obey the meaning rather than the sound. Flight rehearsed until it becomes a way of living ends in a fall, and the injury is real even when the blade never existed.
What Yahweh sends adds nothing to the world, only faintness in the heart, and that is enough. The same conviction that could have carried a promise is carrying a threat with identical force, and it delivers what it carries. The cost is that safety stops working, because a person aimed this way cannot be rescued by the absence of danger.
