Luke 1:1 Meaning Since Many Have Undertaken to Set

Since many have undertaken to set in order a narrative concerning those matters which have been fulfilled among us,

What does Luke 1:1 mean?

What is most surely believed among a people becomes the account they hand down. Belief is no light opinion held at the surface.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

What is most surely believed among a people becomes the account they hand down. Belief is no light opinion held at the surface. It is the settled inner state a person lives from, and out of that state the whole record of a life is written. The many who set their story in order were not inventing. They were reporting what conviction had already produced in them.

This is the quiet law behind every scripture and every biography. A conviction accepted as settled arranges the events that follow it, the way a seed already holds the shape of the tree. The declaration comes last. The believing came first and made it. Whatever a person accepts as done in himself is the thing that later stands before him as fact.

Live Luke 1:1 today

  1. Before your feet hit the floor, listen for the sentence you quietly tell yourself about how today will go. That sentence is already drafting the day, so pick a truer one and sit with it for a minute before you reach for your phone.
  2. When you talk about yourself to someone today, a coworker, your partner, a friend in a group chat, catch the little summary you hand them. "I always drop the ball," "work is a mess." Say something you'd be willing to live inside instead.
  3. Under pressure, when a message lands wrong or a meeting goes sideways, your mind will rush to narrate the ending. Hold off on the ending. Decide what you're sure of first, then let the day report back to you.

What story about yourself are you repeating until it comes true?

The same truth in other traditions

Dhammapada 1

Everything we are begins in the mind. What a person thinks with conviction, he becomes, and his life follows that thought the way a cart follows the ox.

Upanishads

A person is made of what he deeply believes. He becomes what he believes himself to be, and his life takes the shape of that settled trust.

Stoicism · Epictetus

Events do not write your story. Your judgments about them do, and those judgments are the real record you leave behind.
